(English) ‘E’ Block, NBCC Moncton Campus, Targets LEED Silver

The 4475 square meter ‘E’ Block Expansion connects to the rest of the campus buildings through a two storey pedway. The project has many of its services exposed as a working example for technology and trade students. Design elements include a superior building enclosure, extensive daylighting, occupancy sensors to control artificial lighting and high efficiency condensing gas boilers.

Now fully operational, École Ste-Thérese, replaces a much smaller and inadequate predecessor from the 1950’s. The 7073 square meter school is home to 28 bright and cheery classrooms, grades K- 5. Monitor skylights and exterior sunshades are distinctive features in the building form that are part of a comprehensive daylighting strategy. Common amenities, readily accessible for community use after hours, include a daylit gym, resource centre and meeting rooms.

Families are enjoying the latest addition to the Delta Beausejour Hotel in Moncton. Architects Four designed their new pool and waterslide enclosure, which the hotel claims to house the longest indoor slide in the province, at 150 feet long.

Stultz Hall, Crandall University’s latest addition, is celebrating one year since it opened its doors to students, faculty, and staff. The 7400 square meter building was conceived, developed and built according to the Green Globes system, and is targeting 3 Green Globes. Stultz Hall has generous daylighting and incorporates heat pump technologies that stores excess energy in thermal storage tanks.
